Kensal Rise is a very popular residential area known for its locally owned clothes shops, pubs and cafes lining the fashionable Chamberlayne Road. It is unsurprising that Kensal rise has become a hub for creative types given its own independent and creative character, attracting many musicians, actors and writers over the years. Don’t be surprised to see a celebrity or two wandering along Chamberlayne road!
With excellent transport links, nearby green spaces and fantastic amenities, it is little surprise that Kensal Rise has grown dramatically in popularity in recent times, meaning it weathers the ups and downs of changing market conditions to a surprising degree.
Transport
Located in Zone 2, Kensal Rise is a London overground station which connects with Richmond, Clapham, Stratford and any number of stops in between.
Schools
State schools such as Princess Federica Church of England, Kenmont, St Lukes Church of England and Queen’s Park Community School all have excellent reputations. As do those that form part of the Ark Schools group: Ark Franklin Primary Academy, Ark Brunel and Ark Atwood.
Private options in the area are Seacole, Maple Walk and Lloyd Williamson primary schools and Bales College secondary school, which takes pupils up to age 18.
Top Tip
In recent years, local school places have become very competitive given the influx of families to the area, so proximity to the school should be a key consideration if you are moving to the area and have school age kids.
