Caverswall Street London, W12

Set over two floors, and bursting with light, this substantial four-bedroom maisonette, with private garden, is, at approximately 2,126 sq ft, an exceptionally spacious home, with large rooms, high ceilings and offering an unusual degree of flexibility to the owner.

Situated on Caverswall Street, it is brilliantly placed for transport, with White City underground station just down the road, and Westfield Shopping Centre and all the other amenities of west London, including Wormwood Scrubs Common, on hand. And yet it is a haven of tranquillity, with the rear of the property opening out into an enchanting, and very private, south facing garden, designed for outdoor living and visited by birds, butterflies and bees!

The property consists of two main areas. The original Edwardian part retains period architectural features, and is currently configured to include two peaceful double bedrooms – one opening out into the garden via full length bi-fold doors. There is also a spacious, eat-in kitchen and a family bathroom.

The recent, and huge, extension is of a contemporary, but complementary, character. It provides the main entrance via the property’s own front door, and routes straight through to a dazzling, light-filled hallway with soaring ceilings. To the right-hand side there is a large bedroom with high, pitched ceiling and en-suite bathroom with Jack and Jill doors.

Stairs from the hallway lead down to one of the property’s surprises: a complete self-contained studio apartment, with a small kitchen, en-suite bathroom, and large living space, ideal to rent out or perfect as a granny or nanny flat. With plenty of daylight and its remarkably high ceiling, it would also make a fabulous master bedroom suite.

To the rear of the space, however, lies the ‘piece de resistance’: a double reception room with floor to ceiling sliding doors opening up to the delightful garden, full of mature plants, including a magnolia tree and box topiaries.

To the rear of the garden lies another of its secrets: a fully equipped studio building, with internet connection, underfloor heating, plumbing for a bathroom and great storage space. With its sliding glass doors, it is designed to take full advantage of the tranquil garden environment, and is currently used as a home office, but would serve well as a studio or even as a gym or yoga space.

Benefitting from an abundance of natural light, and neutral materials throughout, it can currently be seen as a blank canvas, offering the buyer the opportunity to place their own stamp on the décor. But there is more…. This property is very unusual: it can be used as it is now, as a four-bedroom home. Or it could be divided in to two, or even three, separate properties, with all the potential this offers.

The property comes with a share of freehold, and endless possibilities!

Caverswall Street is a beautiful, quiet residential street situated moments away from the Wormwood Scrubs in North Kensington. Local transport links are within easy access at both Ladbroke Grove and White City.

The 3 bedroom property upstairs is also on the market for £625,000 giving the opportunity to convert the full property back into a freehold house - please copy and paste the following link into your browser: http://www.winkworth.co.uk/sale/property/LAD160675
